Seems to me the board decided to gamble Nwaneri is enough to supplement the attack until Saka gets back. I think we could have still gone for a young talent who could help us (Dibling, Gittens, Mbeumo) even if they weren't a true striker. Actually weirdly OK with it despite wanting a forward all month. Ollie Watkins would have been like a line of speed, quick rush and dopamine boost before he turns 30 and we can't get our main targets and we crash down hard.

The injury to Saka, failure of Sterling plus the January fixture congestion should have had them wanting a signing from the very beginning of January. Arsenal knew about Villa’s PSR issues and if they had given Villa the option to get big money for Watkins at his age plus his wages off their books while retaining Dhuran who has long term value then it would surely have been better for Villa.

Seems to be that Tel was a missed opportunity, if reporting is too believed it was a straight loan with an option to buy. I don't imagine his wages are huge and at worst he could have taken garbage minutes off Kai, if he turned out to be a revelation we could have bought him or just sent home back, it strikes me as a no brainer....

I'm really worrried about Havertz. He has an enormous amount of work to do now and the entire season is on his shoulders - and he's not even a natural goalscorer. It will be a miracle if he makes it through this season without injury or burn out which means squad rotation is so essential to saving the season now. The board completely shafted Mikel, the players, and the fans, so there needs to be a massive summer transfer window to make up for this mess. Its embarrassing.

I do like the videos but come on Watkins ain’t going to be signed in the summer when we could’ve had him now. Sesko and Isak are our top 2 I genuinely think Arteta would start them both. Liverpool are now lurking around Isak too. Sesko this season has shown he’s a goal scorer and for the price it’s just imo. Would love Isak but when we already are going to be committing £60 on Martin Z then £60m on sesko I’d rather also get a winger too for another £80m than buy Isak for £150m. I don’t think we get anyone other than Martin Z though, last summer was the window to build on but that didn’t happen this next summer is big but not as big as last summer should’ve been. Oh please - you're the archetypal PR fan who trades any genuine personal opinion for access to the club and box seats, as you mentioned you had recently. Do you really expect anyone with any type of experience with this club over any number of years to believe the nonsense that you're spouting about saving for the summer? The ownership are happy with top 4 revenue and won't push the boat out to sign difference makers even when there's a desperate need. We all need to make a living but at least do it while saving some dignity instead of just trying to feed people PR on behalf of the club.

I'd love to hear someone explain why the likes of Benjamin Sesko or Nico Williams couldn't be convinced to move to Arsenal in January. Are they so excited to fight for a champions League spot with their current sides? Bearing in mind they personally wouldn't benefit especially if they plan to move on in the summer anyway. What's more worrying is if the board are so incompetent they're unable to convince these players that fighting for the premier league title and champions league (on significantly higher wages) isn't more appealing than trying to get top 4 with their current team. For the backroom team at Arsenal I hope the more likely scenario is our owners don't think it's in their interest to spend £60m to get from 2nd to 1st when you only get £3m more for finishing first. If not it means the club is really poor at recruiting talent because no offence but players seem to consistently be rejecting arsenal, Vlahovic, Mudryk, Omari Hutchinson, Chido Obi Martin, Sesko, Niko Williams, Ayden Heaven...

Absolute rubbish. This club has no ambition.

Arsenal need to buy Isak in the summer - even if he’s 100m+. They need an outstanding and clinical finisher. They have had multiple summers saving money on a striker, and now everyone knows it’s what they need above all, so whoever it is won’t come cheap. But, they need it, and if they don’t start winning trophies, the big players - Saliba, Odegaard, Rice - will feel they’re not going to win things, and will start to become interested in other options. Clearly Arsenal aren’t willing just to get anyone in right now - look at what a relative failure Sterling is - and as Liverpool are so far in front, maybe this season is written off in terms of winning things. So, splash the cash in the summer, get Isak, make progress next season. Done.

I have been satisfied with these owners the past 6-7 years, but last summer was a massive red flag. No big attacking signing, even after a strong cl and league finish. The fact that we made a profit in the transfer market last summer is ridiculous. And now no signing this january. I think the owners are doing what most big businesses do, make the company profitable, and then reduce investments to increase your own profits. Then they make sure their PR team gives the public some dumb excuse that hopefully people will fall for, and then continually squeeze out every last drop of profit they can get until the company is a shell of its former self... hopefully i am wrong
